Unburnt Magnesia-Alumina Spinel Bricks (CARBONMAG UMS)

The UMS Series of unburnt magnesia-alumina spinel bricks is a resin-bonded refractory solution developed by MRL for RH degasser working linings. Made from high-purity magnesia and synthetic spinel, and processed via high-pressure forming and low-temperature treatment, UMS bricks offer excellent thermal shock resistance, slag resistance, and vacuum erosion resistance. They are widely used in RH furnaces to support reliable chromium-free lining performance under demanding operating conditions.

Application

  • Steelmaking: Working lining of RH degassers, up/down snorkels, transition zones near the ladle neck, and other high-stress areas.
