KAB Series

Chromia-Corundum Bricks (ALUMIKROMAG KAB)

The KAB series Chromia-Corundum Bricks are a core product line of MRL. Made from fused alumina and chromium oxide through high-pressure forming and high-temperature firing, they offer high structural density and excellent chemical stability. Available in a full range of chromium oxide contents from 10% to 90%, the series includes three performance types: standard (KAB), strengthened (KAB-S), and thermal shock resistant (KAB-SR). These bricks meet the demanding needs of glass, chemical, waste incineration, and non-ferrous metal industries. They are especially suitable for high-stress zones and perform with outstanding reliability under severe operating conditions.

Application

  • Glass Industry: Used in the superstructure of glass regenerators, such as crown area and supporting walls, where resistance to vapor corrosion and high temperatures is critical.
  • Chemical & Other Industries: Applied in reactors operating under high-temperature reducing atmospheres, offering excellent resistance to acid and alkali corrosion.
  • Waste Incineration Industry: Used in flame-impacted and hot-face zones of incinerators, providing outstanding slag resistance and thermal shock stability.
  • Non-Ferrous & Metallurgy Industry: Applied in slag lines, melting furnaces, and flue gas zones of non-ferrous smelting operations, especially in copper, nickel, and lead production.
