DMK Series

Direct-Bonded Magnesia-Chrome Bricks (KROMAG DMK)

The DMK Series from MRL is a reliable range of direct-bonded magnesia-chrome bricks, made from high-purity sintered magnesia and carefully selected chromite ores. Fired at high temperatures, the bricks form a dense, continuous direct bond between the magnesia and chrome spinel phases, providing excellent thermal shock resistance, slag corrosion resistance, and vacuum stability. While DMK bricks may have slightly shorter lifespans than rebonded FMK types under extreme conditions, they provide a cost-effective solution without compromising core performance. As a result, DMK bricks are widely used as working and safety linings in steel and non-ferrous metallurgical furnaces, as well as working linings in chemical and pulp & paper industrial furnaces.

Application

  • Non-Ferrous & Metallurgy: Working and safety linings in various furnaces.
  • Chemical & Pulp & Paper: Working linings in industrial furnaces.
  • Steelmaking: Middle and upper vessels of RH degassers, hot bends, alloy feeding ports, vacuum chamber linings, as well as VOD refining units, AOD converters, ladle slag lines and high-wear zones

Non-Ferrous, Steel

Description

  • Dense structure with low apparent porosity for enhanced corrosion resistance
  • Withstands basic slags, oxidizing atmospheres, and molten metal erosion
  • Excellent thermal shock performance in frequent cycling environments
  • Competitive price-performance ratio ideal for large-scale operations
  • Multiple Cr₂O₃ content grades available to suit diverse technical and budget needs
